The School of Science and Engineering adopts an educational system of "one department, seven courses.", shifting away from the traditional approach of dividing department into specialized fields. In the broad educational field of science and technology, we link the seven courses of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Systems Engineering, Architecture, Civil Engineering and Urban Design, Human Informatics, Mathematics and Science, and Information Technology and Science courses, and provide a place where you can study with your future in mind.
In the School of Science and Engineering, you will cultivate a broad perspective, enriched by a diverse range of cultural and academic knowledge. You will also develop the ability to make global judgments while deepening your expertise to turn your dreams into reality. Educational Goals
Based on an interest in manufacturing, the School foster individuals who can identify problems or solutions, and demonstrate high creativity to meet diverse needs.
In order to accommodate diverse students, the School of Science and Engineering divide students into classes according to their proficiency level for some required subjects, and provide education that matches each student's level. We also establish an academic advisor system that provides support to students in small groups from admission to graduation, offering advice on not only basic studies, but also student life, acquiring qualifications and finding employment. Our curriculum focuses not only on theoretical learning, but also the development of practical skills, such as the foreign language communication and the ability to use computers as tools, by actively addressing issues connected to society. Furthermore, we aim to develop highly creative individuals who can independently identify problems and solutions, and seek out career paths that match their own goals.
Department of Science and Engineering
Focusing on science and engineering technology in the increasingly diverse and sophisticated society of the 21st century, the Department of Science and Engineering pursues further profound and thorough educational system through the “seven courses in one department” system.
The Mechanical Engineering course fosters highly creative human resources who can form the backbone of industrial society through practical, projectoriented classes providing hands-on experience of mechanical engineering, which forms the basis of machine manufacturing. In the Electrical and Electronic Systems Engineering Course, you will learn the fundamentals and applications of electrical, electronic, and communication technologies. Graduates of this course can work as circuit design engineers, telecommunications engineers, computer systems developers, or embedded software developers at electric power companies, electrical equipment manufacturers, and consumer electronics companies. The Architecture course focuses on architectural welfare, architecture design, sustainability, safety, and community, and lectures on the planning and design of architecture and urban in harmony with nature and society. We foster human resources with rich creativity and skills in design and engineering. The Civil Engineering and Urban Design course aims to cultivate planners, designers and engineers who will contribute to the next generation. The Human Informatics Course focuses on sports informatics, cultivating the ability to analyze physical and physiological data using AI and data science to enhance athletic performance and promote health. While also providing a foundation in medical sciences, the program aims to create new value by bridging sports, health, and healthcare. The Mathematics and Science course offers students subjects covering a range of natural science fields, including mathematics, physics, and chemistry. The curriculum is also suitable for individuals seeking to obtain teaching licenses for senior and junior high school mathematics and science in Japan. Information Technology and Science Course aims to cultivate human resources who will support the digital society. Our curriculum includes comprehensive education in the fields of information engineering, quantum science and technology, data science, and computational science. Students will develop the skills to extract meaningful insights and create value from various forms of empirical data.
