to stay true to the spirit of the foundation of the university, Love the country and dedicate yourself to the world and people, and to produces human resources who will embody the fourth article of morality stated in its educational principles, “sincerity, diligence, knowledge and spirit.” Kokushikan University is the place for students to learn and inherit the sense of public morality that lies in the hearts of Japanese people.Kokushikan University’s mission is to inherit and widespreadthe traditional spiritual culture of KOUTOKUSHIN. There are about 800 universities in Japan, but only a few value “the heart of Japanese” as the spirit of school foundation as Kokushikan University. In the year 2017, Kokushikan had celebrated its centennialanniversary. In 1917, Mr. Tokujiro Shibata establishedKokushikan Private Educational Institution with his passion. His passion and spirits are succeeded by today’s 7 undergraduate and 10 graduate school along with 3 afliated research centers and over 13,000 students after hundred and three years. To the foreign students! I believe our school spirits can be foundnot only in Japanese, but also in people all over the world. Suppressing selsh desires, respecting spiritual culture, caringfor the others and valuing morality should be essential to all human and not whether to where the person is from.Now, there are 545 foreign students from 13 countries & areas around the world studying at Kokushikan University. We provide the opportunities for them to study in various academic elds and to learn about the “Spiritual culture of Japan” and factors that contribute to the Oriental modernization, such as Traditional Culture, Education System, Law System, Economics, Marketing and emergency medication, etc.On the other hand, sections like the International Center and Student Affair help and provide a comfortable studying environment for our foreign students. Students will also have a lot of chances to interact with local residents. I am looking forward to welcoming you as a student of Kokushikan University.
