023FACULTY OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION体たい育いく学がく部ぶ Features of the FacultyTheFacultyofPhysical Educationtrainsoutstandingathletesand coachesfor national and internationalcompetitions,the Olympics, and the world of professional sports, and also trains emergency medical technicians and gymnasts for children. It is a major force supporting the development of sports in Japan.Since its founding in 1958, the Faculty of PhysicalEducation has sentmany talented athletes to nationaland international competitions, the Olympics, and the world of professional sports. With progress of theaging society andincreasing publicinterestinpersonalhealth,the role playedbysportsandphysicaleducation has increased.Inresponsetothesesocialneeds,wehavebuiltstate-of-the-art facilities andintheyear 2000 created two newdepartments: the Department of Martial Arts and the Department of Sport and Medical Science. The former is aimed at training martial arts instructors whocanemploythespiritofthemartialarts tocounter the deepenedspiritualruining ofcofntemporarysociety; the lattertotrainstudentshighlyskilledintheemergencymedical technologyneededto cope withouragingpopulation.ThedepartmentofSportEducationforChildren, foundedin2008, rearfuture excellentgymnastsforcrhildren.From itsearliest daysthe Faculty ofPhysicalEducation has had,as itsgoal,the fostering of a balance of “spirit,skills,andphysicaltness” and instilling its graduates with “the spirit of fair play.” On ourgreenandspaciousTama andMachida Campuseswetrainlifelong sports leaders who can comprehensively integrate sports and health sciences. Educational GoalsWe aim at trainingindividuals who, throughphysical education and sports, can act as the standard-bearers of a healthy, happysociety and contribute to the international community.InaccordancewiththeKokushikanUniversitestraditionofunity ofthemartialand literaryarts,studentsofphysical education and sports are encouraged to master the etiquette and rules of the game andacquire broaderspecializedknowledgeandadvancedskills.Fosteringmartialartscharacters in physicaleducationand sports andthe promotion of scholarly research,ourgoalistotrainsound mindsandhealthybodies.The FacultyofPhysical Education not only trains athletes and coaching staff for activities in the front ranks of sports, and many of the physical education instructors teaching in secondary schools; it also teaches talented individuals to play leading roles in bringing sports and physical education to local communities and disseminate knowledge of emergency medical care. Our goal is to train them to respond to the changing needs of society, promoting thedevelopmentofanadvanced emergencymedicalsystem, acting as thestandardbearersofa healthy, felicitous society, and contributing to the international community. 学部の特色オリンピックや国こく内ない大たい会かい、プロで活かつ躍やくする人じん材ざいからスポーツ指し導どう者しゃ、救きゅう急きゅう救きゅう命めい士し、小しょう学がっ校こう教きょう員いんを育いく成せい。スポーツの発はっ展てんと振しん興こうの一いち翼よくを担になう。1958年ねんに開かい設せつされた体たい育いく学がく部ぶは、オリンピックや国こく内ない大たい会かい、プロで活かつ躍やくする優すぐれた人じん材ざいを数かず多おおく輩はい出しゅつしてきました。また、進しん行こうする高こう齢れい化か社しゃ会かいや高たかまる健けん康こう志し向こうを背はい景けいに、スポーツの果はたす役やく割わりはますます大おおきくなってきました。この社しゃ会かいのニーズに応こたえるため最さい新しん設せつ備びを備そなえ、2000年ねんには武ぶ道どう学がっ科か、スポーツ医い科か学がっ科かの2学がっ科かを開かい設せつ。さらに、2008年ねんにはこどもスポーツ教きょう育いく学がっ科かを新しん設せつしました。武ぶ道どう学がっ科かではこころの荒こう廃はいを深ふかめる現げん代だいに武ぶ道どうのもつ精せい神しんを活いかす指し導どう者しゃを、スポーツ医い科か学がっ科かでは高こう齢れい化か社しゃ会かいに対たい応おうする高こう度どな救きゅう急きゅう医い療りょう技ぎ術じゅつをもつ人じん材ざいを、こどもスポーツでは身からだ体のみならず、心こころの教きょう育いく、個こ性せいの育いく成せいにも貢こう献けんできる教きょう員いんを育いく成せいすることを目め指ざしています。体たい育いく学がく部ぶが創そう設せつ以い来らい一いっ貫かんして目め指ざしているのは「心しん・技ぎ・体たい」のバランスが取とれ、「公こう正せいな精せい神しん」を身みにつけた人じん材ざいの育いく成せい。スポーツと医い学がくや健けん康こうを総そう合ごう的てきに結むすびつけてとらえることのできる、生しょう涯がいにわたるスポーツ指し導どう者しゃを緑みどり豊ゆたかで広こう大だいな多た摩ま・町まち田だキャンパスで育いく成せいします。 学びの目的体たい育いく・スポーツを通とおして健けん康こうで明あかるく豊ゆたかな社しゃ会かいの担にない手てとして活かつ躍やくできる人じん材ざいや国こく際さい社しゃ会かいに貢こう献けんできる人じん材ざいの育いく成せいを目め指ざす。国こく士し舘かん大だい学がくの伝でん統とうである文ぶん武ぶ両りょう道どうに則のっとって、体たい育いく・スポーツを学まなぶものとしてのマナー・ルールを身みにつけ、より広ひろい専せん門もん知ち識しきや高たかい技ぎ能のうを修しゅう得とくします。体たい育いく・スポーツ武ぶ道どう文ぶん化かの発はっ展てんと学がく術じゅつ研けん究きゅう活かつ動どう推すい進しんにつとめ、豊ゆたかな心しん身しんの育いく成せいと錬れん磨まを図はかります。体たい育いく学がく部ぶでは、第だい一いっ線せんで活かつ躍やくする競きょう技ぎ者しゃ・各かく種しゅスポーツ指し導どう者しゃはもちろん、中ちゅう学がく・高こう校こうの体たい育いく教きょう員いんを多た数すう輩はい出しゅつしていると共ともに、地ち域いき社しゃ会かいでの体たい育いく・スポーツの普ふ及きゅうから正ただしい救きゅう急きゅう医い療りょうの知ち識しきを指し導どうできる人じん材ざいの育いく成せいを目もく標ひょうとしています。また、社しゃ会かいの変へん化かに的てき確かくに対たい応おうし、スポーツ障しょう害がいや疾しっ病ぺいをはじめ、各かく種しゅの事じ故こ・災さい害がいに対たい処しょする高こう度どな救きゅう急きゅう医い療りょう体たい制せいの充じゅう実じつ・発はっ展てんに寄き与よし、健けん康こうで明あかるく豊ゆたかな社しゃ会かいの担にない手てとして活かつ躍やくできる人じん材ざいや国こく際さい社しゃ会かいに貢こう献けんできる人じん材ざいの育いく成せいを目もく的てきとしています。Department of Sport and Physical Education ［体たい育いく学がっ科か］Department of Martial Arts ［武ぶ道どう学がっ科か］Department of Sport and Medical Science ［スポーツ医い科か学がっ科か］Department of Sport Education for Children ［こどもスポーツ教きょう育いく学がっ科か］
