Kokushikan student wins Mainichi Award at the Mainichi Calligraphy Exhibition

Yusuke Takahi, a 3rd year student in the Department of Economics, Faculty of Political Science and Economics, has been awarded the Mainichi Award (Class II Kanji: 3 to 20 characters) in the under-23 division of the 61st Mainichi Calligraphy Exhibition held from July 8. This event, sponsored by The Mainichi Newspapers and Mainichi Shodokai, is the largest calligraphy exhibition in Japan. The under-23 division is open to entrants aged between 18 and 23, and was instituted with the aim of fostering fresh talent to support the calligraphic arts in the future. The Mainichi Award is awarded to the best entry in this division.
