Voice of International Students

Liu Yuan[China]

School of Asia 21

In my second year at university, a senior from Dalian University of Foreign Languages in China told me about Kokushikan University which led me think of studying in Japan. The faculty of Asia 21’s “21” means 21 Century. The 21 Century is said to be the century when Asian countries will be leading the world and developing widely in many ways.

When I thought about my future, I wanted to study Asian Economics and Business. I compared a lot of Japanese universities but I chose Kokushikan University, with major in business at the faculty of Asia 21 because the faculty’s agenda most suited me.

I had many concerns and disconcerts at first when I came to Japan. But little by little having support from the International Centre and the university professors, I started to fit into the Japanese life style. In return for helping me, I put in a lot of effort to study and participated volunteering actively. Participating in these events, including the open campuses and the International educational exchange, made my Japanese improve extremely well and I discovered my value as a person. I would like to continue this wonderful time at Kokushikan University.

Furthermore, I would like to utilize my knowledge of Economics what I learned at the faculty of Asia 21 and continue my study at Graduate school. In addition, I find the Japanese politeness, which I learned via the “Kyudo” class, will be beneficial to my future studies and job-hunting.
I found my future dream through Kokushikan University during these two years as well as acquired confidence to achieve my goals.
