International Center
DirectorThe International Center of Kokushikan University has pursued a variety of international exchange projects grounded in our core mission of "internationalization" of Kokushikan. We have actively sought to develop student exchange, overseas language training program, invitation of foreign university professors and staffs and other programs through cooperative agreements with thirty-six universities and one research institute across eighteen countries and regions outside Japan.
A total of around 800 international students from eighteen different countries and regions study in our university at present. Along with long-established faculties such as the Faculty of Political Science and Economics and the Faculty of Engineering, the School of Asia 21, established in April 2002, has been particularly active in welcoming international students. It is quite common on our campuses to see Japanese students communicating with foreign students, transcending national borders to broaden the scope of interaction and deepen friendships. This kind of campus environment fosters coexistence among different cultures, thereby contributing to our university's ideal of nurturing internationally-minded human resources.
In organizational terms, the International Center comprises an International Relations Section and an International Student Service Section. It is designed to address the increasingly diversified activities of international exchange in the university organization. All of us are working hard to ensure that the International Center makes a substantive contribution to the development of a unique andattractive campus environment into the future. We look forward to your continued support and cooperation.
