From its early days Kokushikan University has worked to develop exchanges with overseas universities, and in 1996 inaugurated its International Center in order to promote international exchanges even more effectively. Currently, we have academic exchanges with 35 universities and 1 institution over 18 countries. Furthermore, we are expanding its effort to diversify our overseas partnerships and enrich the content of our exchange programs. Over the past few years the number of international students is increasing as well as the students eager to study overseas. In the process, the types of support offered by the International Center have diversified, and it now offers the following programs and supports:

1. Support for International Students

   Matters related to residence status; housing, medical care, and other practical matters; providing information and consultation regarding scholarships and application procedures

2. Support for Students Eager to Study Abroad

   Providing information and consultation for students hoping to study overseas

3. Exchange and Study Abroad Programs

   The Center currently administers one-year student exchange program with 25 cooperating overseas universities, and one-month study abroad program with cooperating institutions in 6 countries (Canada, the United States, China, South Korea, Australia and U.K.).
