Human Sciences

The Graduate School of Human Sciences consists of two programs, Human Sciences and Education, both of which offer master's and doctoral programs. The program in Human Sciences covers a broad range of fields from Japanese and Asian history and literature to geography and regional studies. The program in Education provides opportunities for the study of Western educational thought, Japanese education, contemporary issues in education, and developmental and educational psychology. The master's program is aimed at developing research skills and equipping professionals with the advanced knowledge needed to respond to the demands of today's world; the doctoral program is aimed at producing researchers with a wealth of academic knowledge.

Program in Human Sciences

Engages in research primarily focused on the history, literature/culture, and geography/regional characteristics of Japan and the rest of Asia.

Program in Education

Nurtures professional educators with fresh, advanced knowledge and capabilities that enable them to answer the educational needs of modern society.
